Wonder of wonders, Miracle of miracles...

So, its our spring break too, and in true Ransom fashion, the girls took a Road Trip!
(Work prevented Dad from coming. we missed him greatly.)

Background: My camera is broken, the LCD screen is cracked. All you see is a lovely oil slick-type rainbow. So all our pictures are shots in the dark. It's worse than film days, because I don't even have a viewfinder. Just a wild point-and-shoot guess!

The Miracle: We're ecstatic to find that we have a few pictures from our trip. Who would have thunk it? (I am of the opinion that there are no small miracles, so I'm grateful!)

This trip was to our oft-neglected family in Oklahoma City. We have a large -not polygamist Utah large- but larger than average extended family. 75% (60%?) of which live in or just around the OKC. It's fun when we get together. The best phrase of the week was actually from Big Red. After three nights in a row of dinner with a large gathering of relatives, (different location, and different relatives each night), she gently but firmly pulled me aside and says "I need to know who is here, and how they are related to me. Very fair and valid question I thought. -It was very fun. I'm so glad we got to see lots of you, and sorry for those we missed. Thanks to all those who took time out of their non-spring break week to visit with us.-

In addition to the family, while we were there, we took in the Oklahoma City Temple grounds,

The Zoo!

"good monkey"

The Science Center,

After a "tornado" in a wind tube

And the Western Heritage (Cowboy) Museum!

Ready for a cattle drive?

Little Bukaroos

So just for fun, there are two movie references in this post. See if you can guess.

Where To Begin?

1: Well, our dear Blog has become an HGTV widow. I admit it. We now subscribe to a cable network and have a DVR. -I love it. We watch what we want, when we want. -Unfortunately, the time I used to blog on the computer, when my kids were in bed and I wait for my husband to come home from class, I watch TV instead. Lazy, I know. -but I'm getting a good grasp of what I need to do to finish our kitchen update. :)

2: We had a good family friend come to visit a month ot so ago. While he couldn't bring his family with him to play, he did bring us some chocolate goodies to try to ease the pain. He hung out a couple of days and provided us with our Family Home Evening entertainment. An arm wrestling match with Dad!

3: A couple weeks ago we had our yearly kids fun run. LIttle Red ran 1/2 mi. Yippie Skippie ran a mile all by herself, and Big Red and Chickadee ran 5K with Mom. Hooray! They now want to train for the Bataan Death march 15 mile memorial race. Mom is VERY apprehensive, but loath to discourage lofty goals. -any input on the reasonableness of allowing kids to walk (accompanied) a 15 mile hike with minimal training?
